OUR CROWN JEWEL
Any good gym will always be built around a few pieces: squat racks, dumbbells, kettlebells, etc. For us, we decided to make an investment that we will last. We purchased a Rogue MonsterLite Rack that also provided options for us in the future (when we have a house) to be able to bolt it down. We purchased a stabilizer bar so that we can leave it flat on the ground without bolts, and it is a TANK!
ACCESSORIES
We purchased the Ohio Bar because of it's utility. This is a bar that can handle heavy loads, as well as dropping it with plates without damaging it.
We also got the spotter arms instead of just using the pin pipe safety system because the spotter arms allow us to squat outside of the rack (and potentially, both of us can squat at the same time).
To save some money, we purchased a flat bench rather than an incline bench. Whenever we want to do incline work, we use yoga balls (so there's a tip to help keep the cost of starting your own home gym down).
Our flooring choice is rubber 4' x 6' horse stall mats. They are so solid and thick. We chose the thickest one available at 3/4 of an inch thick. For more information on where we purchased them, check the video and get yourself some...especially if you are like us and rent your place.
When it comes to choosing between our living room furniture and setting up "Big Red" it's easy to see what we chose.
Thank you for visiting and as always...TRAIN HARD Y'ALL!
